My family grew up in Boston’s Chinatown, they spent so much of their time there and a handful of them still reside there. Over the course of the years of visiting there myself and talking to my family members we noticed that the neighborhood is changing. I decided to document the people who live and work in the shrinking neighborhood. Buildings and homes are being torn down to be built into new condos, new immigrants from China are coming in, changing some of the local restaurants and a new generation of young people who no longer speak just Cantonese, instead their first language is English. This project has been a huge learning process, not just in my photography or Chinatown, but myself.
