San Francisco Bay Area Families
These photographs are part of my project of photographing families in the San Francisco Bay Area. I photographed a total of 36 families.
I believe that a photograph speaks without words. As I find expressing my ideas in writing difficult, it provides me with a medium to express my ideas.
In this project I tried to show the families as I saw them. I tried to capture an expression that defined the family and at the same time capturing the dignity and substance of ordinary people in their natural environment.
I enjoyed the closeness that happened while photographing these families.
I think that photography is not only an art form but an important sociological tool that documents people, their environment and the times that they live in.
