One of the central themes in my artistic work is the human face.
From my early drawings in the eighties, continuing with sculptures in the nineties, it became a recurrent subject.
So it's no wonder that I'm dealing with it in my current camera work. But it is a great challenge for me, really, because I'm not the outgoing type of person. When creating a piece of art with my pencil or with clay, I'm inventing a new character in my head. When photographing a real life person, soft skills are crucial for being successful. And success means in this case to create a piece of art that is at once very personal AND universal.
