Five iron men
A metal factory in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). A fascinating atmosphere: intense heat, strong colors, loud noise, busy men, sunbeams coming in through holes in the roof.
It is impressive how unprotected these workers are, handling heavy iron rods, sometimes red hot, wearing rubber slippers or even barefoot. Some stopped and posed, a few smiled, others continued working. What I tried to capture in this series of photos were the working men; the expression of calm and confidence, the contrast between their unprotected skin and the rusty, hot, harsh iron all around them.
