Alone in Cities of Millions
This selection of environmental portraits from my time in China highlight the rare, quiet moments, one can find when living in a city with millions of people. As I walked through crowded streets, I felt alone and isolated, being faceless and nameless amongst so many people. I noticed that others seemed to be alone or had little interaction with each other. The architectural elements of the cities and landscapes framed how small some of these figures were in comparison. We were all moving through the same space, but disconnected.
