Having grown up on an island in the Caribbean, Rachel Morón has experienced light in a different context than most of her Dutch peers. When she moved to the Netherlands at age 17, she had to learn how to see again, but most importantly: learn how to photograph again.
In her images there’s a calm placelessness. No matter where she goes Rachel manages to find the things that remind her of what home feels like, or what it absolutely isn’t and transforms it into something else. Together, her images interact with each other to create sentences.
