About Raphaël Albanese

Multidisciplinary artist born in 1997 based in Liège, Belgium.

My first experience in an artistic context dates back to the age of 8 with painting during a workshop at the academy of art in Liège.

At 10, my father put my first camera in my hands. I couldn’t do without it and took it with me everywhere. I wanted to keep memories. At 16 I started high school photography in Saint Luc Liège.

At 11, before rediscovering photography, I started dancing thanks to a friend. After 10 years I'm still dancing. Coming from an underground background going up to the scenic creation and the performance in situation.

Art has always been a way of detaching me from reality and expressing my feelings, sometimes heavy and sometimes wonderful. Now, after various experiences, I use reality around me and I transform it.

After some research, I discovered that I practice a singular type of art realized from a photographic method of digital abstraction. This sentence is in no way definitive but it helps me to situate myself in the complexity of the world of contemporary art.
