I consider myself a Histographer/Photographer documenting subject matter as viewed by a Social Scientist being educated as a Historian, a former educator turned photographer since 1976. Documentation or "straight photography" has been my venue,. "New Topographics" school of photography has impacted me greatly. I'm basically self taught with a few photographic mentors who encouraged me greatly. I have lived in two rural mountain communities in Colorado my entire adult life. I consider myself a Humanist, and my photo work shows "Reality in Essence with Tranquility and Solitude". In 1983, Ruth Orkin by chance viewed my neophyte portfolio in NYC, and said specifically to me, "... continue the work, continue the work". I have followed her advice.
