About Rebecca Finley

Rebecca Finley is an artist who is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and has lived in Texas since 2005. She received her MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and her BA in Studio Art from The University of Tennessee. Rebecca currently holds the position of Professor of Art, Photography at Sam Houston State University where she is also the chair of the Department of Art. Rebecca’s photographic work deals primarily with environmental portraiture focusing on the people of East Texas and East Tennessee. She explores ideas of identity and connection as well as the differences and similarities we share as humans. Rebecca’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Internationally.
