Reema Hamdan is a photojournalist from Sydney Australia currently based in Colombia. With an avid interest in social justice and equality, along with issues facing her local community, she intends through her photography to bring attention to the fascinating and fragile world we live in.
With a solid ten year graphic design background, Reema Hamdan changed careers after spending two years living in East Africa where she witnessed scenes, both beautiful and confronting, that she believed had to be shown to the world. She moved back home to Australia in 2012 where she undertook a three year Diploma of PhotoImaging course graduating in 2015.
Since then she has been published in Australia's 'The Big Issue', was a finalist in Capture's '2015 Emerging Photographer of the Year' in the documentary and photojournalism category and has been exhibited twice in 'Capture', which runs alongside the world famous 'Head On' exhibition.
