Regina DeLuise was born in Brooklyn, NY . She received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1993 and has traveled throughout India, Nepal, Bhutan and Europe, shooting 8 x10 film and large format view camera. Her work is represented in private and public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum in NY, Brooklyn Museum, Art Institute of Chicago and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Drawn to the ineffable and the curious nature of the real, Regina DeLuise explores the visual complexities of contemporary experience through interiors, still life, portraiture and landscape photography. She is moved by the power of the photographic image and its ability to embody the depth and richness of the human experience. Her images reveal a great love of the medium, the recognition of light, circumstance, and a need to roam toward the unknown.
