I am a fine art photographer with a background in journalism/photojournalism and education, working in traditional and historic processes on projects that express life narrated by nature. My documentary photography book, Don't Make Me Go to Town: Ranchwomen of the Texas Hill Country was published in 2011 by the University of Texas Press. I decided to pursue a more expressive and personal kind of photography in 2012, after a series of major life changes. After a great deal of thinking, studying, shooting, experimenting, editing and printing, I showed the first version of this project to other people in 2017. It continues to evolve. So far this year, my images have been selected for group exhibits by Scott Nichols Gallery, San Francisco; PhotoPlace, Vermont; and The Center for Photographic Arts, Carmel.
