A square is where it all started. I wanted to make something with square photos, without any explanation. With some research I discovered my fated love for 6x6 medium format photography. With of course my dream camera, the Hasselblad 500CM. There is something about going outside with that big chunk of metal and glass and seeing everything square trough the viewfinder. The view from our own eyes and a lot of letter and visual containing surfaces are long rectangulars. I try to show the world trough a perfectly square view. Inspired by the square compositions of Vivian Maier and Piet Mondriaan, I’m always looking for lines, people or a combination of the two. Furthermore, I love the process of analog photography. Creating photos from A to Z is what I started learning myself. The unknown, the failure and therefore hard work in a good photo is what keeps me going in this sometimes fast and superficial world.
