Junyan Hou(Chinese, b.1990) is current a MFA Photography student studying in School of Visual Arts, New York. Born in China, got first MFA in photography at San Jose State University, California and BA in International Business major in China, moved to America since 2014. Before came to America, Junyan was a commercial photographer in a high-end studio. Specialized in studio working environment. Junyan’s work blurred and blend the line between commercial and contemporary photography. The Fabric of American Democracy--Stranger in a Strange Land was created basing on the Fine Art trajectory then utilizes commercial studio lighting. Most of his work is the representation of his personal perspective of cultural difference, and the study of mentality.
