Rory Hejtmanek is a documentary and fine art photographer who currently resides on a "family compound" in Georgetown, TX. His work is earnest and emotional and explores themes of family, gender, death, and rebirth.
In the beginning of his career Rory focused on the daily life of his family. The clearest path was to photograph the people that meant the most to him. After his mother died in 2009, Rory realized how important his documentation of her was. Since then he has looked towards relationships within his family for the sincerity that inspires his photographs. His images express diversity and individuality, brought into focus by compassion and observation.
