In the past two years I have begun to seriously develop my artistic practice in photography, exploring the medium as a means of self-expression and as a future career. I take part-time classes at the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa to develop my artistic capabilities while also working photographing local events and live music on a regular basis. I use photography to process my personal experiences with disability and chronic illnesses, as well as engage with my passions. Photography is the link between the art I can do now, and the art that I can no longer create. My practice consists of both digital photos and, more recently, 35mm film (black and white as well as colour). I often employ unconventional self portraits, experimentation and artistic perspectives in my work.
