Samir Tlatli was born in 1975, in Tunis. Today, he is based and works in Paris.
After holding a degree in directing, editing and cinematography from Prague film school in Czech Republic, he moved to Paris in 2012 where he graduated from the International Institute of Professional Photography (SPEOS).
The enigma and frightening maturity of Francesca WOODMAN's work influenced him, and his constant need for introspection led him to crawl into the frame, and start to make self-portraits.
In his work, he uses shapes, materials, and geometric compositions to translate feelings. He brings a narrative dimension to his photographs by involving the human body in interaction with ordinary objects. his goal is to decipher the meaning of a certain banal materiality that becomes important in one specific context.
