Sebastian Niebius was born in 1980 in Naumburg/Saale (Germany) and after living in Berlin and Frankfurt/M. he settled in Erfurt in 2011. His expressive, often experimental photographs oscillate between figuration and atmospheric abstraction. Multifaceted landscapes, characters and extraordinary moments are portrayed by merging digital photography with analogue distortions. In doing so, he creates individual visual worlds that reference reality while extending it into the imaginary.
