Born in Japan, Sei Yamazaki is a conceptual artist primarily working with photography, ink-wash painting and occasionally incorporating ikebana, typography and architecture.
Yamazaki constantly seeks the “absoluteness in relativity” and converts his findings into shape. By shifting general beliefs in our relative society, he attempts to find something that is essentially absolute, by which he means concepts found in “a life that wasn’t lived”. In other words, it is about finding and casting a spotlight on elements that weren’t chosen for one reason or another in the evolution process.
As the founder and creative director of seitaro design, inc., he is involved in a wide range of designs and directions centered around corporate design, branding and promotional design. Yamazaki is the first Japanese collaboration designer of FRANZ COLLECTION and has received many awards both globally including IF Packaging Design Award, Ad stars and Good Design Award Gold Award among others.
