Sergey Tesker (born in Volgograd, Russia, 1976) became an avid hobby photographer since he picked up his parents’ rangefinder camera when he was in grade 6 and joined photo club at his school. Dark room process of development his films and prints was the magic worth waiting for once the equally fascinating parts of exposing and composing were over. The dream began.
But it was probably because of the chemistry involved, or most likely because of his parents involvement, Sergey entered Volgograd Sate Technical University in 1993 and graduated 8 years later with M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in Material Science. He never abandoned his photography passion though. Six years and many cameras later, in 2007, he emigrated to Canada, where he hoped he would reboot his photographic hobby into a new career.
