Born in the traditional Victorian seaside resort of Scarborough (1970), I am inspired by the brooding sea and rugged Yorkshire coastline.
My career began as a Graphic Designer, before a change of direction led me to enrol on Leeds College of Art, Foundation course, specialising in Fine Art. I then moved to London, Central St. Martins School of Art, to study BA(Hons) Fine Art: Printmaking & Photomedia.
Using Victorian inspired, low-tech, experimental processes, including medium format and 35mm film, cyanotypes and a pinhole camera, I aim to capture the otherworldly, timeless quality of the beautiful and uncanny, the dark and haunted; bleak, lonely landscapes, spectral portraits and ghostly interiors.
Now based in Otley, West Yorkshire. I work part-time at Leeds College of Art, in the library and as a darkroom photography technician.
