Sherry grew up in her father’s darkroom watching the magic happen. Early in her work she photographed musicians and live theater but eventually had her own studio and worked for an online paper. After a few trips to South America and Mexico, and, getting laid off, she became interested in finding a photo-journalistic project close to home. Sherry did a Google search on homelessness and discovered Tent City in Lakewood, NJ. The images are but a few of the many she collected over the 4 years involved photographing the homeless encampment. Her work has been published in a variety of news articles, magazines, and websites and is in a number of private collections throughout the USA and abroad.
