Sibylle Fendt was born in Karlsruhe in 1974. After graduating in photography from Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, she moved to Berlin in 2002, where she still lives today. She has won numerous national and international prizes for her final thesis "Uneins". In 2003 she was part of the World Press Photo Masterclass. From 2003-2005 Sibylle Fendt was a guest student in the Wolfgang Tillmans class at the Frankfurt Art Academy. She has been a member of the Ostkreuz photographers' agency since 2010. Sibylle Fendt photographs in the editorial section for magazines, teaches photography at various universities and works continuously on independent long-term projects that are exhibited internationally. Her topics are social exclusion, gender studies and psychological, social, disease-related crises and simply "normal" life. The portrait is the focus of her work.
