Siho Chang graduated from Kyuongwon University, South Korea with a Bachelor of Science in Fashion Study. He is currently a second-year M.F.A Photography student at Parsons, The New School for Design, NY.
Chang was born in 1984 in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up along great economic growth in South Korea and experienced the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the 2002 World Cup. These were two significant events that put South Korea on the map as a truly international country. During this period, the South Korean government made decisions for the sake of economic growth and efficiency which inevitably brought conflicts and compromises between traditional culture and westernization.
Chang’s work mainly focuses on identity of the individual and the identity of objects. Using large-scale self-portrait photos, Chang presents a factual representation of information about identity by experimenting visually and focusing on eastern theories and philosophy. Currently, he is exploring a project regarding the
