Simone Marinho holds a master's degree in Social Communication from PUC-Rio, is graduated in Social Communication from UFRJ, with a postgraduate degree in Documentary Photography as a Social Research Instrument.
She is an independent photographer. Worked in the newspaper O Globo for 14 years, she is co-author of the book Nos Limites da Amazônia Azul. Her research and work deals with themes related to women. She is one of the founders of the Brazilian female photographers movement, Fotógrafas Brasileiras.
