About Sophie Armstrong

Sophie Armstrong, b 1989, is a conceptual art photographer from Adelaide, Australia. Studies: 2008-2009 Adelaide Centre for the Arts, 2010-2014 University of Adelaide, Art History Major, 2017-2018 Centre for Creative Photography Adelaide.
In 2016, Sophie resided in New York City. During that time, Sophie completed further study with Magnum Photographer, Alex Webb at Aperture New York, photographed Tziporah Salamon for her book publication The Art of Dressing (Rizzoli Publications) and documented New York style icon, Dandy Wellington.
In 2017, Sophie was a finalist in Click17 at The Brunswick Street Gallery in Victoria, Australia (2017) and shortlisted for The Prospect Portrait Prize, Adelaide Australia.
In 2018, Sophie completed a month long Artist Residency, culminating in a group show at 'World Of Co' in Sofia, Bulgaria
Sophie's artworks are in private collections across South Australia. Sophie currently lives and works in Adelaide, South Australia
