About Stefan KONKOLY

Stefan Konkoly is a self-taught photographer whose practice originates in analogue black-and-white, shaped by a documentary sensitivity to place, movement, and human presence. His early work, rooted in travel and street photography, explored fleeting encounters and the immediacy of lived experience.
His images have been recognised across a range of international competitions, notably within themes such as City, Eye Contact, Relationships, and Animal Kingdom, reflecting a sustained interest in human connection and observation.
More recently, his work has shifted towards a more perceptual and interpretative approach. Moving beyond documentary representation, Stefan investigates the instability of vision and the dissolution of form within the urban environment. His ongoing series London Blurred marks this transition, where movement, surface, and fragmentation redefine the boundaries between presence and disappearance.
