Steffi Drerup is a German-born artist based between East Frisia and Berlin.
She is currently studying at the Ostkreuz School for Photography Berlin with Ute Mahler and Ingo Taubhorn (‚Meisterklasse‘).
In her work, Steffi explores the concept of identity, both within a social and private context. Caught between a fine art and a documentary approach, her images are inspired by themes around identity, womanhood and belonging.
She also has a BA from London Guildhall University; with further coursework at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and Central Saint Martins, London.
Additional workshops with Vanessa Winship and George Georgiou, VOID Athens, Mark Power, Ute and Werner Mahler, Eva Bertram, Viktoria Sorochinsky.
She has recently been named GUP's New Talent 2021, and was chosen to her her work 'ichfolgedessen' at Copenhagen Photo Festival, Belfast Photo Festival and also Riga Photomonth.
Her work has been shown in Seoul, Copenhagen, Belfast, London, Berlin and in Barcelona and has been featured in several publications.
