Stephan Koplowitz is a site based director/visual media artist. His work in the visual arts, an extension of his work in site-based public-art, has taken different forms. Light Camera Action (in collaboration with architects KBAS is an array of 3 camera obscuras tethered to digital media) was the winner of a public art design competition and is permanently installed at the The Center for Arts and New Media in SLC, UT (2013). Revealed (2006-ongoing) a site-adaptive public art-installation with a portable camera obscuras installed in Battery Park City, NYC, MASS MoCA and the Mead Museum, MA . His photography has been exhibited as part of the first collection of photo booth art, Photomaton -(1987/88), at the Pyramid Art Center, Rochester, N.Y., the Palm Gallery, Brooklyn, 1988, at La Galleria dell-Occhio, NYC, ‘86 and a solo exhibition, Spacial Reconstructions at the Dance Theater Workshop Gallery, NYC, ‘86. A new portfolio was shown at Annie Wharton LA, Pacific Design Center in 2012.
