It is hard to imagine more twists and turns in my self-invention. I came from a small Ohio town, conformity and nearsightedness the rule. My mother was a woman determined to break the rules through her sense of style and talent, she worked in stone in her 80's. That's a story all in itself. I was overeducated determined to break out through artistic invention. Self-schooled in art history, I put my hands into clay and was never the same again. I attended classes at The Art Institute, mostly to be in an artistic environment. I painted and made sculpture, plaster, and wood. I started a clothing company which had a 10-year run. I did what I could. I located expensive cars for clients and took photographs. I still do and make sculptures for fun.
