I am a photographer who was born in Vernon, Connecticut. I have an Associate's and Bachelor's degree in fine arts. Next year I will be starting a Master's program to eventually teach the concepts associated with art and photography.
Something that has always inspired me in art and literature is how they can transport the audience to another world. I have so many worlds that pop into my head. I need to express them through photographs, illustrations, or writing in order to catch my breath. When I wrap up a series it’s like creating a vacancy for new ideas and worlds to move in.
Lately, I have been pondering why I create art as many artists have. Art grants me the tools to explore worlds within my imagination. More importantly, it’s always been centered on constructing characters. The more I think about it the more these characters are simply facets of myself. They are me and I am them. I understand now that my art is therapeutic as much as it is creative.
