About Stuart Lawson

Stuart Lawson is a British photographer who specializes in creating images that show the talent, emotion and beauty of dancers, sports participants and musicians through vibrant time-lapse and strobe imagery.
His ballet collection has been exhibited in Russia, Dubai and France and includes a major exhibition sponsored by Porsche throughout the Park Hyatt Hotel, Moscow. He has also undertaken a six-year project documenting the life backstage of ballet companies, culminating in three extensive publications.
His current work includes creating images of sports men and women, and documenting the artisans and shopkeepers of Hyeres, France where he currently resident.

Stuart’s background is unusual, he was a senior international businessman retiring only in 2022 when forced to leave Russia. He spent 25 years with Citibank in 11 countries, including launching the bank into the Russian market in 1995. Since then, he has been CEO of three Russian banks including the HSBC subsidiary and the banks of two oligarchs. Simultaneously he has been a professor teaching leadership in European and American universities.
