Susan Fink grew up in Minnesota. She studied violin performance at Manhattan School of Music, and earned a BA in anthropology from the University of Chicago. She also received a BFA in Media Arts, where she studied photography and motion picture arts, from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Upon graduation, she went on to direct and produce documentary and narrative films in Los Angeles. After nearly 14 years working as a successful film producer in Southern California, and two years in Montana writing grants and garnering funding for a start-up film festival, she returned Minnesota. Although she has been taking photographs for over 25 years, she has only recently returned to the form full time -- renewing an old love for the still image.
