“I am not interested in facts. I want to show atmosphere.” - Leonard Freed
From his early 20’s, he looked for something like facts and truth; something that was logical and made sense. Back then, he thought that something that was impossible to define with language caused errors.
It was so surprising for him that photography could contain something which cannot be defined with language. Coming to see things that way, there was so much that could not be explained with language or logic.
Now he thinks that errors are not caused by something that is impossible to define, but rather from attempts at defining something that is undefinable. And that’s why he continues to photograph.
