In college I use to work for the Associate Press Photo Department and there I was exposed to their power. I bought my first camera when i was 22 and shot mainly B&W (that was the least expensive approach). When my children were born I did as every father does - take pictures. When my son started playing soccer I decided to photograph the games and offered the parents individual photos of their kids over the course of the season. Their cost was my cost. One of the parent is a professional photographer who told me that his son had my pictures hanging in his room. He said to me that I should pursue this (you have a good eye) and when I wanted to make a living at it he would help me decide how to proceed. This was the first encouragement I ever got. So, I proceeded to learn more - nature classes, Maine Workshop - and reach out more. Now I am coming back to photography in this part of my life.
