I'm Theresa Forthaus and I'm 21 years old. My fascination for photography led me to study Crossmedia Design at the AKI Artez Academy of Art and Design in Enschede, the Netherlands. While I am experimenting in different types of media, I still use photography as my main means of communication.
During my last semester, I initiated a project for which I flew to Honduras, Central America. I took photos and videos of its people and their environment. My photography in combination with personal views of the documented individuals serves in a form of a newspaper I created, as a means of communication in order to support interpersonal and intercultural understanding.
I'm really looking forward to your feedback. I would like to focus on documentary photography, but I'm unsure if I'm on the right way, if I even have enough talent to do it professionally. What is your advice for a young student who would like to have a place in this increasing and daily changing photography world?
