About Theresa Swidorski

I have been making photo images since 2000, mainly without formal academic study. I grew up in the Midwest and have lived my entire adult life in Albany. My photo subjects reflect my concern about humankinds’ role as inadequate shepherds of our planet.

My photos are taken on film and printed in classic black and white by myself in a darkroom. I prefer the hands on approach this offers me. For 9 years, I had the privilege of studying printing with Chuck Kelton at the International Center for Photography (ICP) in New York City. I do use a phalanx of processes to make the images reverse and take on color.
