Born in Tahiti to an English mother and Catalan father, Thom holds both British and French Nationality. Fittingly, he spent his childhood and adolescence between Paris and Newcastle, England.
His relocation to London in 2008 to study Medicine at Imperial College served as the ultimate inspiration for his work; the unveiling of human vulnerability stimulated a deep empathy with his patients, which became evident in his photography.
In 2011, Thom embarked on a modelling career which allowed him to travel the world and explore his practice further, his camera becoming an indispensable travel companion.
Dropping out of Medicine enabled him to focus on his photography and modelling career. 6 years of working with the most distinguished photographers and designers in the industry enabled Thom to enhance his knowledge in the field and further explore his own ability as a photographer. He has since lived for significant periods in London, Paris, Tokyo, Milan, Barcelona and New York.
For the last 6 months, he has been focusing his energy on portraiture and fashion photography. It seemed like a natural progression from being in front of the camera to now being on the other side. Although there are drawbacks to being known in the industry as a model first, the benefits of his experience as a subject far outweigh them.
