As a visual artist, I strive to introduce my viewer to the unconventional beauty of every day places, things and associated chaos- to a beauty that may not be at eye level. As a veteran of the US military, I strive to capture the everyday events parallel to all cultures and places uniting us in our humanity.
I graduated from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1993 as a painter and art instructor. My life’s journey includes a stint as an outdoor guide, a stint in the US Navy, and a career as a staff officer in the Department of Defense. Each of these opportunities afforded me the opportunity to travel to places far and near- to places with peaceful beauty as well as to places where the human spirit overcomes overwhelming destruction and challenge.
