Tomas Jirku is a Vancouver-based photographer who explores the back-country of the surrounding mountains in search of its hidden secrets.
His work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in Vancouver, and his prints are held private collections across North America and Europe. He studied Graphic Design at the Ontario College of Art, and works professionally in print, having a hand in producing the works of notable Canadian artists.
Vancouver’s proximity to pristine and remote nature is enticing yet enigmatic even to those who are familiar with it. Tomas uses infrared photography to explore beyond the limits of human vision and reveal the otherwise imperceptible energies that radiate from these environments.
