I’m a walker between walls with a camera. Through my lens, I see the possibility of creating new openings, facilitating healing and integrating scars. This journey is rooted in memory; witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall as a 10 year-old child and third generation of East Germans. It changed my perception of reality and my own identity, and laid the foundation for the mask/shadow work I facilitate today as a photographer. In 2014, I created an interactive travelling photo exhibition, Within My Walls and Beyond, and extended this exhibition with workshops designed to question the meaning of walls. It’s with this mindset that I founded "Within Our Walls and Beyond". I've recently moved from Geneva, Switzerland to New York after having been accepted with a merit scholarship at the International Center of Photography where I'm currently enrolled in the New Media Narratives Program. The submission is part of a longterm project shot in my Berlin, Germany.
