My photographic approach is directly related to my work as director of photography.
After two-year undergraduate intensive course in Art to the french Grandes Ecoles, I joined a film school in which I specialized in photography and I hold a Master's Degree in Image Aesthetics. Then I collaborate on films with different filmmakers and work today as director of photography for the French film industry.
I learned as a trainee in prestigious cinematographic development laboratories. This double practice of film, pushes me to experiment and to question myself always feeding my thoughts through the work of video directors, cinematographers, photographers, painters etc...
Each photographic research can improve my work in cinema and vice versa. Through this way I experience and flourish myself in order to enrich my images.
What interests me it's to create an image which can affect the one who looks, and to be made it's necessary to be able to understand how the technique can serve the emotion. In order to do this I work with various film cameras (Rolleiflex, Hasselblad and Leica mainly).
I particularly enjoyed working on the alteration of what is given to see on my pictures. It is one of the predilection fields of my photographic researches. I enjoy creating frames which do not look like frames anymore, but which are abstract images of it. I try to master the emotional issues of my work in order to give a poetical study of perception. The work on colors is in the center of my searches and these series are some examples of results.
