Yana Vasilyeva is an artist working with photography, installation and sculpture. In her artistic practice, author relies on visual codes and symbolism often portraying interaction of human and nature, and their mutual penetration; the coexistence of self-expression and equality; explores the influence of information flows, creates personal mythology and utopias. Author of three self-published photobooks and a supporter of self-organized initiatives.
She is a recipient and finalist of numerous international photo awards. Her work has been exhibited internationally in biennales, festivals and museums such as Berlin Foto Biennale, Germany; Barcelona Foto Biennale and Incart Festival d'Art Contemporari, Spain; Head On Festival, Australia; Pingyao International Photography Festival, China; International Festival of Photography PhotoVisa and Typography Centre for Contemporary Art, Russia; Palm Springs Art Museum, USA; CICA Museum, South Korea. Lives and works in Krasnodar, Russia.
