I photograph on handheld mobile, and experiment with editing technology; making sequential adjustments to brightness, exposure, contrast, and shadow, along with saturation, warmth, and tint. Gradually decaying, evaporating captured imagery into slow-gathering flotsam of dissolution and obscurity. These ‘sanded down’ nuclei then form ground materiality, upon which I layer topography, sculpt tapestries. Where I incrementally arrive at kaleidoscopic approaches to themes of residue, reuse, and reinvention, fiction, composition, and narrative. As they relate to time-traveling prolific, within the critical contexts of loss and renewal / regeneration. During which, immersive cartographies of collective memory texturally emerge …bridging archaeology and poetry, housing decorative within abstract, while unearthing allegorical or embodied meaning. These catalytic dust clouds, formulating between early inquiry and expanding imagination, approximate phenomena occurring with alchemical interactions, shifting atmospheric conditions. Of venturing outward, yet inwardly, with wonder, curiosity. The epiphany accompanying what was yet known …there unearthed, or chanced, and what had been perceived known …unfolded, unmapped.
