As an art historian and visual artist, I am interested in material culture, sociopolitical problems related to immigration, loss of cultural identity, and the expansion of art outside of traditional spaces like art galleries and academies. My personal work in different media explores the intersection of art theory, design, education, and advocacy for underserved populations. I have an ongoing project in Veracruz, Mexico that incorporates an ecological farm, the exploration and documentation of popular arts in rural communities, and research that is focused on practical solutions that ignite social change.
