Japanese photographer and translator/editor based in Japan. Study in process-oriented psychology, together with Jungian dream analysis, has shaped her artistic outlook. Began working with digital SLR photography in 2008, following explorations in pastel painting and mosaic art. Focused on Japan's four seasons, nature, and landscape, rendered in a painterly style through multiple exposure, soft focus, and abstract, impressionistic sensibilities. Working under the label La Belle Note, she also explores the resonance between color and sound as a recurring thread across her practice. Her work — most recently the AWAI series — explores the luminous space between dreams and waking reality. Finalist in the Nature & Landscape category of the 2024 Siena Creative Photo Awards.
