About Alena Slapak

My name is Alena and I am an Indian-Honduran-American. I grew up in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana and I spent my free time traveling, studying languages, and taking photos. To date, I am fluent in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and Tulu, and I use my proficiency in these languages to get closer to my subjects and make them feel more comfortable. My preferred method of photographing is analog photography and my favorite type of photography to create is portraiture and cultural landscapes. My ultimate goal is to become a photographer for the United Nations.
