“The rain washes memories off the sidewalk of life”, Woody Allen said in an old movie. Raindrops, like in a blues song, fall with a repetitive but fascinating rhythm, awakening, as they were called in XVII century, the “blue demons”: a suffused sensation of melancholia. This image is part of the series Raindrop Blues, that tries, through double exposures and street photography, to dip the viewer in a sort of dreamlike reality. The rain seems to fall on everyone, creating evocative images where every element – the street, the sky, the characters, the viewer – is involved in a romantic and, in the same time, melancholic feeling. Many subjects mysteriously appear as dark silhouettes, or have their faces hidden by colorful umbrellas. This, along with the raindrops and dark colors, evoke a sense of human isolation, a common feeling in large cities. As Bob Marley said, when it rains some “feel” the rain, others just get wet

With his series “Urban Melodies” Trerotoli creates, by superimposing different pictures, an abstract representation of urban landscapes and contemporary life from modern metropolis like Rome, New York, Paris, Berlin and many others. By juxtaposing different images, Trerotoli aims to show an usual image in a conceptual way, where everything is duplicated, the lights and the structures multiply and build a new vision of urban life.
