Ana Santana is an emerging photographer originally from Spain. Based in The Netherlands since 2005 where she finished her MSc in Psychology Research at the Universiteit van Amsterdam, in her final thesis she compared the expression and experience of Anger across cultures. She has continued living cross-culturally ever since.
Her photographs tell the story of her own life, revolving around escapism, liberation and the quest for home.
She creates in the void between her and the other, a place where she is connected with everything and everyone, a place where spacetime somehow disappears.
In 2016 Ana was selected as one of the best Dutch emerging photographers by Gup magazine and featured in the book NEW 2016 which is available in museums and bookstores worldwide.
In 2019 Ana´s work was featured in the book FRESH EYES - New European Photography, which was launched this last summer, first at the art fair PhotoBasel and later at the festival Voies Off - Arles.
