The reason that I once made the choice to make my living as a freelance photographer instedad of becoming an employee is simple. I had the urge to work with my own pictures and my own projects.
My personal work is in a tradition of documentary photography. In that line of ”business” all the work is done ” by personal necessity and at personal risk”, with all complications concerning money and possibilities to get published.
In the working process you can only rely on yourself. But a story without a audience is a dead story. Solitude and togetherness. Antipoles cooperating and making a life. That is what its all about. The joy of telling a story and the joy of creation.
The magic moments when everthing works together. Light, opportunity, body language, enviroment. All linked together to the perfect image. That´s what you always are looking for. It´s like a drug, you need it more and more. These moments when the time stops.
